Since becoming a BigCommerce Partner back in February of 2018, Matter’s been pretty busy. With the launch of 5 BigCommerce stores, and 3 in the making, our team of dedicated developers, designers and project managers have been collaborating to create online stories for our clients.
So how did it all begin? In a recent article we spoke about the new partnership with BigCommerce and our aim to become a leading provider in BigCommerce implementations and system integrations, simultaneously helping our clients maximise their online sales and the growth of their brand and business through our marketing services.
This goal is fast becoming a reality with the launch of our first 5 sites:
The problem: Toymate is currently trading primarily in Australia through 15 stores throughout New South Wales. Their next step for growth was to build engagement and interest in-store with a new e-commerce site.
The solution: A brand new BigCommerce store featuring the new branding elements and a full integration with Jasper PIM.
The problem: Klinch sells designs and manufactures innovative safety products that are sold to a global market. Like many companies, they created a website when they first launched their company and had not updated it since.
The solution: We created a fresh new site using BigCommerce, migrating them from WooCommerce. Since launch Klinch has increased their online revenue by 213%.
The problem: The old BronRob website was a custom built php website with simple e-commerce functionality and limited capacity for the client to customise and manage their store.
The solution: A platform that would simplify the e-commerce functionality and provide out-of-the-box solutions like simple order management, customer notifications and wholesale pricing options. Matter migrated the data from the old site onto a new, customised Stencil theme. We used the BigCommerce Customer Grouping and Price Lists functionality to offer a wholesale pricing structure, with the ability for wholesale customers to login and have strict access to discount prices.
The problem: W&S Promo was previously managing all their product sales manually and offline through a very large, and very messy, spreadsheet. Staff would process orders over the phone and via email. This resulted in limited customer reach, limited customer engagement and a lot of manual labour. Pricing complexities and customisation proved difficult with the hundreds of pricing structures available for variations in product e.g. branding, printing, packaging etc. They were looking for an online solution to reduce manual labour and increase the exposure of their products.
The solution: An online store that allowed for complex pricing rules and product variations. Matter was convinced that BigCommerce was the best platform to handle the client’s needs and were not disappointed. With some complex customisation, data manipulation and the ability to utilise BigCommerce Price Lists, Matter launched W&S promo’s first online store.
We also have 3 BigCommerce websites scheduled for release shortly:
Sites in Progress
Project Scope: Urban Rituelle is currently trading primarily through 900 independent gift boutiques throughout Australia. The website was previously built with Business Catalyst, and provides B2B and B2C online sales.
With the aim to double B2C revenue, Urban Rituelle needed an improved user experience. The BigCommerce’s Stencil theme proved to be the best solution here with a beautiful mobile friendly (responsive) layout that was tweaked by our senior Graphic Designer.
Matter is currently in the process of finalising the website, that includes a full Datapel integration.
Project Go-Live: October 2018
Project Scope: The beginning phase of the Brown Forman project is to build a B2B wholesaling ordering platform on BigCommerce. This will incorporate a liquor license and login gateway page and API connections with Brown Forman’s existing systems.
The interface will see the customisation of a BigCommerce theme, to optimise the B2B user experience and match the existing Brown Forman brand guidelines.
Project Go-Live: November 2018
Project Scope: Firewire Surfboards requires a new custom website to be built using designs done by XWP. The new website will be built in WordPress using the new BigCommerce/Wordpress connector.
The proposed structure utilises the advanced content management capabilities of WordPress with the secure and powerful e-commerce functionality in the BigCommerce platform.
In WordPress we will build a custom mobile-friendly (responsive) theme that beautifully executes the UI design and provides an effortless user experience across desktop and mobile devices.
BigCommerce will act as a headless commerce platform, providing the e-commerce capability in the backend and integration with your ERP. Only the checkout process will be run by BigCommerce on the frontend of the website.
Project Go-Live: September 2018
Matter & BigCommerce at Sydney’s Online Retailer Conference
It was only fitting that Matter and BC had side-by-side stalls at the recent Online Retailer conference at Darling Harbour’s Exhibition Centre.
Online Retailer is the e-commerce event that highlights disruptive, innovative retail models and the technologies that support this. The event was all about making connections and sharing the innovative solutions that both Matter & BigCommerce have on offer for those entering or existing in the e-commerce space.
We want to let people know that we create not only online stores, but online stories as well, because selling is not the only ingredient in your brand’s e-commerce strategy.
Matter launches Sydney’s BigCommerce Meetup
Matter recently launched Sydney’s first BigCommerce Meetup for industry professionals, BigCommerce representatives, partner platforms and merchants, and those who want to discover how to get the most out of the BigCommerce platform.
Events will include updates and insights from BigCommerce and their partners, as well as being a space to innovate and share ideas. All with the added bonus of good food and views of beautiful Sydney.
We’re excited to launch our first Meetup that will be held on the 23rd October 2018. More details to come.
Matter’s Latest Creation – WordPress > BigCommerce Pages/Posts
Matter’s developers have created an app that allows users to sync WordPress pages/posts and publish them to BigCommerce with ease.
The main objective of the plugin is to enable users to manage their pages and posts in the WordPress interface, using the WYSIWYG editor, and then update this content directly onto the BigCommerce interface.
1: Migrate — Quickly migrates your WordPress posts and pages to BigCommerce
2: Auto-Sync — Automatically syncs WordPress posts and pages upon publish/update.
3: Permalink Control — Ability to change the page/post permalink/slug
4: Global Permalink Control — Option to change the permalink structure globally e.g. /blog/%postname%/
5: Bulk Sync — Ability to sync all the posts and pages from the plugin settings (rather than page by page)
6: Fix Sync Issue — Plugin automatically detects errors and gives the option to fix an issue
7: Sync Status Log — Shows a detailed log of the sync status.
